A Missionary From San Diego California Positive of A(N1H1)

GMA News reported that a case of A(N1H1) was positive in one of the two missionaries in Bacolod City. The missionary arrived in the Philippines on June 9 and has been observed with symptoms of the said illness on the 12th of June. He later was brought to the hospital on the 14th in Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. He was then released the day after and the doctors of the said hospital are still waiting for test results of another American missionary, aged 53, who was the companion of the 20-year-old.

The confirmation of the 20-year-old brings to six the number of A(H1N1) positive cases in Western Visayas, four of which were in Bacolod, one in Iloilo, and one in Capiz.

All confirmed H1N1 patients are now doing well and under medication. They no longer have any fever, a DOH Region 6 report said.
